Christine Conwell is the Director of Planning and Operations for the Strategic Energy Institute (SEI) at Georgia Tech. SEI focuses efforts on the integrating, facilitating and enabling programs at Georgia Tech exploring the energy landscape. Previously, Christine acted as the Managing Director of the NSF-NASA Center for Chemical Evolution, a Phase II Center for Chemical Innovation. She managed the day to day operation of the center, which includes facilitating collaborations, overseeing proposed milestones, and championing in the education, outreach and diversity initiatives. Christine’s scientific passion lies in the wonders of biomolecules—from understanding their origin to their potential application in biopharmaceutics. Christine received her undergraduate degree in molecular biology and chemistry from Westminster College (PA), which is continuously ranked as a top school for women and minorities in STEM. She then earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Georgia Tech. When Christine is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 adorable boys (8 and 5) and cheering on her favorite Pittsburgh teams.
